Overview
Barnfield Farm is a The Wild Company habitat bank in Huntingdonshire, managed for long-term ecological delivery within the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Claylands National Character Area.
The site has been transformed from low-yield arable land into a diverse habitat mosaic, delivering Lowland Meadow, Traditional Orchards, Mixed Scrub, Mixed Woodland and Species-rich Native Hedgerow - with units available at Very High, High and Medium distinctiveness levels.
With over 381 units available, Bluntisham is one of the larger habitat banks in the Greater Cambridgeshire area, supporting landscape-scale connectivity and providing habitat for ground-nesting birds and pollinators.
The Wild Company manages the full lifecycle of this site - from initial baseline assessment and registration on the National Biodiversity Gain Site Register, through to legal structuring, unit sales and 30 years of physical ecological delivery and monitoring.
An HMMP is currently being agreed and the site is being legally secured via a Conservation Covenant. Units will be available for allocation upon registration.
